Godet

Based in La Rochelle, a coastal town in the southwest corner of France, this family-owned Cognac house dates back to the 1700s. The production history of this facility dates all the way back to 1782, when namesake Gedeon Godet registered the Godet name. The Godet family had their own quirks and superstitions – indeed, they saved the best bottles of Cognac by burying them in the garden of the distillery! The facility was briefly owned by Diageo for a time during the 1980s, but it was bought back in the 1990s and now has 15-generation Godet family member, Jean Edouard Godet at the helm.
